Braided Coils

Remember when I showed you the Princess Leia hat and said it would be finished really quickly because I only had to make the braided coils and sew them on. ONLY. Ha!

I suppose I underestimated how much time it would take to cut 84 50" strands of yarn. Let me tell you. It takes a long time.

Here are my 84 strands, in two bundles of 42 strands each.

And here is one, braided and coiled.

The coiling was a little more difficult than you might imagine, but only because I really need glasses! Brown yarn on brown yarn. I was basically sewing these coils together on faith.

I suppose I should just go ahead and sew these braided buns on the hat, but frankly I'm a little sick of it right now. LOL. Tomorrow.
