Let's Talk About The Super Bowl

And the Colts are goin'!

I'm so excited, I just can't stand it. I'm excited about the game. About Prince doing the halftime show. About the commercials. About the food. About the way, when I am extolling the near perfectness of Peyton Manning and someone says some crap about him not ever going to the the Super Bowl, I'll be able to say... Booyah! What now?

Okay. Okay. I guess I'm supposed to be talking about knitting on my knitting blog, right?

So, here's some knitting for you. It's a business card holder for my desk. I got the pattern from a January, 2003, Knitting Digest I bought off eBay. The design is by Liliane Dickinson. It's worked on dpns and goes pretty fast. I used a small amount of worsted weight acryllic (from my massive leftover stash) in oh yeah, Colts Blue & White!

Of course, I'll be knitting while I'm watching the game. Something I don't have to look at.

I'm A Knittin' Machine!!!

Okay, so I only have one FO. But that's merely because I am a total slacker at finishing. (The knitting is the fun part, anyway.)

These slippers are the "Comfy Slippers" by Barb Niedermaier, featured on the 2007 Knitting Pattern A Day Calendar. (January 3) They are a lovely multicolor yarn in the calendar picture, but I decided to give them texture, as well as color.

Mine are knit from about a skein and a half of Lion Boucle'. The color is Wild Berries. I think that saucy little pom-pon on top just makes the slipper, don't you?

I've also finished knitting the Speed Stix Sweater. But... You guessed it. It needs to be seamed.

Still, it looks pretty. All blue and stuff. And the texture is very interesting. I guess I'm all about the texture lately. I'll seam it up and post an action shot soon.

In my efforts to avoid seaming, I also knit all the pieces to this sweater. This is just the sleeve. It's Lion Brand Homespun, which I like very much because it's so soft.

Why am I knitting so much? The Colts and 24. So much in-front-of-the-TV time means I need something to do with my hands. Of course, when the Colts go to the Super Bowl, I'll be doing other things with my hands... wringing them, biting my nails, clapping, praying...

Tales From Pat's Mailbag (Again)

Yes, it's that time again, Gentle Readers. Time for Patwoman to dip her metaphorical hand into the e-mailbag and answer your questions. What will we talk about today? The two dozen scarves I knitted for Christmas? The PooPoo Sweater for my cat? The progress on the Speed Stix Sweater? The plans I have for the big Box O Yarn T gave me at Christmas?

Dear Patwoman,
It's been a long time since you've talked about or to Adam West. Are you mad at him for some reason? Did you break up with him and forget to tell him about it? Because, baby, the Batster is still crazy about you.
A Curious Reader

Dear Curious,
Of course not! How could I be mad at Adam West? He is still The Batman, the Costumed Capturer of Patwoman's Heart.
Patwoman

Dear Patwoman,
That's good to know. But if that's so, why no blog action? Do you have any idea what it feels like for me him to just sit around and wait for you to decide you want to include me him in your life?
Another Curious Reader

Adam,
Can we talk about this offline? Call me.
Patwoman

Patwoman,
Maybe this is the only way to get your attention.
Adam

Adam,
I'm sorry. I've been neglectful. You know you're the only bat for me. In fact, I would love it if you would make an appearance at GenCon this year. I promise, I will shower you with so much attention you will feel like calling Security.

Well I Tried To Think Of Something Clever...

But I've got nothing. In fact, just today Blamey and I had a pathetically long conversation about office supplies.

I guess I could go seam that sweater I knitted New Years Eve...
